On Friday evening, 19th June, we invited Melbourne Organist, Scott Harrison to play at a private function for our Friends of the Wurlitzer support group. This was well received by attendees, though technical issues (ciphering due to overheating, wiring faults) were identified and are being addressed.
Scott will return to assist our team with more remedial work on the organ and percussion. .
WE'RE ALMOST THERE!
We have a bit more to do on the percussions. Neil and John continue the work.
All the organ pipes are now installed, tuned and playing.
The organ's home is the Glen Eden Playhouse Theatre in Glen Eden, Auckland, New Zealand.
The organ is housed in purpose built chambers at the back of the theatre stage.
The console resides stage left in the orchestra pit.
This installation has been made possible with grants from Western Districts Community Foundation, Lottery Environment and Heritage, American Theatre Organ Society and donations from Friends of the Wurlitzer.
Listen to Peter Hosking playing the Organ at the handover.
